Applies to: Google Docs® (Windows or Mac)

You can insert or type e with an accent mark in Google Docs in several ways. You can use built-in tools, online tools, add-ons or keyboard shortcuts (including Alt code shortcuts). The letter e can be inserted with an accent in both upper or lower case. The following are common accents in upper or lower case – È, É, Ê, Ë, è, é, ê, or ë.

Note: We are using a desktop / laptop, the online version of Google Docs and a US keyboard layout but the strategies and shortcuts apply to English Canada keyboards. Keyboard shortcuts may work differently depending on your keyboard layout / language.

First, you will need to log in to your Google Drive account and then open the Google Docs file in which you want to insert the e with the accent.
