Insert the Euro Sign or Symbol in PowerPoint Presentations (with Shortcuts)

You can insert the euro sign or symbol (€) in a PowerPoint presentation using built-in PowerPoint commands or keyboard shortcuts (Alt code or AutoCorrect shortcuts).

In this article, we'll review 3 ways to insert or type the euro symbol in PowerPoint:
- Use the Insert Symbol command
- Press Alt and then enter a number sequence
- Insert an AutoCorrect entry
Note that the euro symbol appears slightly differently depending on the font you are using.

1. Use Insert Symbol to insert the euro symbol
To insert the euro sign or symbol in a text box or placeholder on a PowerPoint slide using Insert Symbol:
- Click in a text box or placeholder where you want to insert the euro symbol.
- Click the Insert tab in the Ribbon.
- In the Symbols group, click Symbol.
- Select (normal text) from the Font drop-down menu.
- Select Currency Symbols from the Subset drop-down menu.
- Scroll through the list of symbols until you find the euro symbol (€) and then click it.
- Click Insert.
- Click Close.
The Insert Symbol dialog box appears as follows (with € selected):
2. Use an Alt keyboard shortcut to insert the euro symbol
To insert the euro sign or symbol in a PowerPoint presentation using an Alt keyboard shortcut:
- Position the cursor in the text box or placeholder where you want to insert the euro symbol.
- where you want to insert the euro symbol.
- Press and hold Alt + 0128 on the numeric keypad.
If the sequence doesn't work, press NumLock on the numeric keypad. If you don't have a numeric keypad on your laptop, you may be able to access number keys at the top of your keyboard in combination with another key (like Fn).
3. Use AutoCorrect to insert the euro symbol
You can also insert the euro symbol automatically using AutoCorrect.
To insert an AutoCorrect entry for the euro sign or symbol in PowerPoint:
- Position the cursor in the text box or placeholder where you want to insert the euro symbol.
- Type (e).
The entry will be inserted as soon as you finish typing. You should not have to press the Spacebar to insert it.
These methods are easy to use and it's up to you which method you prefer.

How to Curve Text in PowerPoint
You can curve text in PowerPoint using WordArt Transform options on the Shape tab in the Ribbon. The text can be WordArt text or text in a text box or in a placeholder. Using Transform text effects, you can curve or bend selected text. The text can be curved around a circle or other shape if you want. Typically, curved text is inserted in Normal View and can be a word or a line of text.
