Viewing Document Statistics or Properties in Word Files

by Avantix Learning Team | Updated May 1, 2023

Applies to: Microsoft® Word® 2013, 2016, 2019, 2021 or 365 (Windows)

Microsoft Word automatically tracks statistics about your documents. These statistics appear in Word Properties and include the file name, directory, template, author, editing time, word count, last print date and the user who last modified the document.

Some of the information that appears in Properties is picked up from Word Options (such as the author name) or your Windows login details.
